How to set up your Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale in Discount Easy

Black Friday is four weeks away. If you set the campaigns up now, they switch on by themselves at midnight on Friday and hand over to Cyber Monday without you touching the store over the weekend.

The plan used in this guide

The steps below build two campaigns: one for the Black Friday weekend and one for Cyber Monday, with the second starting the minute the first ends. Change the numbers to your own offer; the screens stay the same.

Worked example

Black Friday weekend: 25% off the Winter collection, from Friday, November 27 at 00:00 to Sunday, November 29 at 23:59. An $80 sweater sells for $60.

Cyber Monday: 20% off all products, on Monday, November 30 from 00:00 to 23:59. The same sweater sells for $64, and a $40 scarf from outside the collection for $32.

Two separate campaigns cost a minute more than one long one, but each gets its own look, its own countdown and its own line in the results afterwards.

Check that the app embed is on

Discounts apply at checkout either way, but sale badges, timers and labels only appear in your store when the Discount Easy app embed is turned on in your theme. If it is off, the app shows a banner saying “Your app embed is turned off”. Click Enable app embed, then click Save in the theme editor. If you plan to switch to a new theme before Black Friday, turn the embed on in that theme too.

Save a Black Friday style and a Cyber Monday style

A style decides how the badges, timer and other widgets look. Do this first, because the campaign form only lets you pick from styles you have already saved.

  1. Go to Design and click Browse templates.
  2. Under Occasion, choose Black Friday. It has four looks: Classic, Midnight gold, Graphite and Price tag.
  3. Type a Style name, for example “BF 2026”.
  4. Every widget starts on Classic. For any widget you want in a different look, click Use on that look. Customize opens it in the editor if you want to change colours or wording.
  5. Click Save.

Read the wording before you choose. Graphite's timer says “BLACK FRIDAY WEEK” and its badge “Black Week”, which only fits a sale that runs all week. Repeat the steps with the Cyber Monday occasion (Classic, Electric, Matrix and Byte). Matrix titles its timer “SYSTEM SALE” rather than naming the day.

Saving styles needs the Basic plan, which holds four saved styles, or Pro, which holds twenty. On Free your store uses the Default style; you can still browse the seasonal looks and open them in the editor to see them.

Create the Black Friday campaign

Go to Discounts, click Create discount and pick the Product discount tile. Then work down the form.

  • Method. Leave it on Automatic discount. A campaign that needs a code shows nothing in the storefront, so it gets no badge and no timer.
  • Title. Customers see it in the cart and at checkout, so write something they will recognise: “Black Friday: 25% off winter”.
  • Scheduling. Keep Basic scheduling. Set Start date and time to November 27, 00:00. Tick Set end date and set End date and time to November 29, 23:59.
  • Timer Settings. Tick Show Timer. The box appears only once the campaign has an end date, because a countdown needs something to count down to.
  • Discount value. Choose Percentage and enter 25. Set the products to Collections and use Browse collections to add Winter.
  • Exclude. If some winter items already have a compare-at price above their price, tick Exclude products already on sale so they are not cut twice. This is on Basic and Pro.
  • Style. Pick “BF 2026”. The preview beside the form changes to show it.

At the top of the form, leave Status on Active. Because the start date is in the future, the badge next to it reads Scheduled, and the campaign switches on by itself on Friday. Save.

If you sell to consumers in the EU and have the lowest prior price turned on in Settings, the form also has a Price transparency box with Show the lowest prior price ticked. Leave it ticked for this campaign. Our post on the Omnibus Directive explains why the price you track in November matters (general information, not legal advice).

The time zone catch

The start and end times are read in the time zone of the computer you set them on. If you and your customers share a time zone, there is nothing to do. If you do not, convert first.

Worked example

You run the store from Warsaw and most of your customers are in New York. In late November Warsaw is six hours ahead of New York.

Type 00:00 on November 27 on your laptop in Warsaw, and the sale starts at 18:00 on Thursday, November 26 in New York, while your customers are still eating Thanksgiving dinner.

To start at midnight New York time, enter 06:00 on November 27. The end time moves the same way: 23:59 on Sunday in New York is 05:59 on Monday in Warsaw.

Make Cyber Monday from a copy

Open the Black Friday campaign and click Duplicate. The copy opens straight away, named “(copy)” and set to Inactive, so it cannot clash with the original while you edit it. Change:

  • the title, to “Cyber Monday: 20% off everything”;
  • the value, to 20%, and the products, to All products;
  • the start to November 30, 00:00 and the end to November 30, 23:59 (converted, if your time zone differs);
  • the style, to your Cyber Monday style.

Set Status to Active and save. It should now read Scheduled as well.

Make sure the first campaign ends before the second begins. If they overlap by an hour, both apply to the same winter items in that hour, and a shopper gets only the better of the two. On Pro the form warns you with “Campaign time overlap detected”, and the campaign calendar shows both campaigns side by side.

Check both campaigns before Friday

  • In Discounts, both campaigns show Scheduled with the dates you meant.
  • Open each one and look at the preview: the right style, the right price, and the timer.
  • On the Free plan, keep an eye on the limit of three live discounts. If an everyday campaign is still running, end it or make room before Friday.
  • On Friday morning, open a winter product in a private window. You should see the badge, the $60 price and a countdown to Sunday night. Add it to the cart and go as far as checkout to check that the 25% applies.

The Black Friday and Cyber Monday checklist covers the rest of the preparation, from choosing the offer to the week after.

When the weekend is over

Both campaigns end on their own, and with them their badges and timers. On Basic and Pro, Analytics shows orders, revenue and average order value for each campaign separately, and you can export them to CSV. Because Black Friday and Cyber Monday ran as two campaigns, you can see which of the two offers did more for you before you plan the December sale.
